I will say the mud fight between Aidan and John aka mr big in season 4 was rather hilarious since it was like two high school jocks fighting for the girl out of jealously. Too bad further episodes or the second movie didn't develop some sort of friendship between the two.

There friendship or cordial bonding afterwards or the fact that even allowed him in his house was unrealistic. There would never be a friendship between the two, especially on Aidens part. That would be like Natasha and Carrie becoming girlfriends.

He should have never even agreed to be with Carrie if she refused to cut Big out of her life, and it was the height of Carrie's irrational and self-absorbed actions to not do so. And yes, how would Carrie feel if after she was back with Big, he asked her to be friends with Natasha? (In an alternate reality where Natasha still wanted anything to do with Big.)

Let's think of it this way. If my husband wanted to remain friends with an ex, and he said it's strictly platonic now, I WOULD let them be friends. Who knows maybe I could be friends with her. I'm not really the jealous type, and think I know my spouse well. HOWEVER, if he started cheating on me with her, then THAT'S IT. I wouldn't want to ever see her face or hear about her EVER again. And I would demand that he end their now not-so-platonic-after-all friendship. And I don't think that is being unreasonable.
So for Carrie to think it's all hunky dory for her to continue to remain friends with Big and expect Aidan to be okay with it after she cheated on him with Big, well, she's delusional. Poor Aidan. I'm so glad he dumped her skinny A and found a nice woman to have a family with. Let Carrie live the rest of her life with drama with Big. I didn't watch the last movie, did she and Big get divorced finally? They both deserved each other.
