Will they Ever Make a Sequel?
Have Matt and Trey ever considered doing a sequel? Both of them are getting old and I think the best way to end South Park would be to make a sequel.

shareTrey Parker & Matt Stone were originally considering making Imaginationland a theatrical sequel, but then opted to make it a TV movie of sorts. On the commentary they mentioned this, it almost sounds like they are still thinking of doing another movie.
I hope some day they will. Maybe when the series finally goes off the air. I noticed that this movie has lost a lot of it's impact now that they get away with a lot more on the series, and how they are now releasing the series uncensored now. Still a good movie though.
"We Came to Vegas Looking for Strippers and Cocaine"
I don't think there is any "need" to make a sequel. (even for a finale)
I don't agree that the movie has "lost it's impact" at all. The points raised are still as valid now as they were originaly...sadly.
But this is a kind of movie you just can't sequelize.
When this movie was released, the TV show was still pretty "underground". Most people just saw the show as "toilet humor" and made out it was bad for kids to watch.
This is EXACTLY what the movie stood for.
The ironic idiocy of the people damning the TV show.
The timing of this moive could NOT have been any better, and it's success just made the TV show more popular.
You can't follow that up.
Matt and Trey are better off just sticking with the show instead of trying to 1 up the movie market again.
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is God.

BTW: SP:BLU did NOT help the TV show become more popular. In fact, the movie came at a point when the show's uber-popularity was winding down.
The movie was released sometime during the mid of season 3 which had suffered drop in ratings.
I even remember myself almost giving up on the show since it didn't appear to be going anywhere. Then the release of the movie came about... And when it was finally released, it pretty much revived the ratings and the show itself, giving it a fresh start so to speak. From that point on the episodes were significantly funnier and more daring and crude.
I think there should be at least one more movie, to finish the series. I think by 2013 South Park will be dried up, and I think they should finish it with a big musical again, but with a different plot and stuff. It's sad to think of such an incredible show going, but by then the material and jokes will tire up. But finishing the whole series with a musical number like Mountain Town (Reprise) would make me tear up.
