is the terrence and phillip show a cartoon?

i was watching this movie again and cartman says about the movie "its probably not good anway" because "the animations all crappy". Obviously its a joke about the south park film, but i always thought the T & P show is real people. Idk just a thought.

Check out the Terrence and Phillip: Behind the Blow episode. They make a joke about that. The narrator says something like '...and this lead to confusion as to whether Terrence and Phillip were real people or a cartoon.'

I think in the beginning of the show they were supposed to be a cartoon, but when they made the movie they decided to make them real for the purposes of the story.

Originaly T&P was a cartoon, it was supposed to represent how people genrally thought of SP itself (just fart gags) and T&P are supposed to be Matt & Trey.
But think about it, SP itself is a cartoon...so any and everything in it is also a cartoon.
