Was 'La Resistance' a take off on 'One Day More' from Les Miserables?

what I heard was thjat la resistance was a little bit of les miserables, but also the structure was inspired by the " tonight ensemble quintet" from west side story... where different factions sing different songs, all at the same time with a culminating climax... for comparisons.. watch:

I'd say so; big medley numbers before the act break are a standard for musicals, but the South Park one is fairly explicitly referencing Les Mis and One Day More. It's called La Resistance, which is what Les Mis was all about; it's on the eve of a battle that every faction is preparing for; all the Resistance are well aware that they may die; heck, the lyrics of the actual La Resistance segments of the song could be chucked into Les Mis with no real loss in translation.

If you disagree with something, attack the argument , never the person .

The only allusion to Les Mis that I found was when The Mole died. It reminded me greatly of a mix between Gavroche's and Eponine's deaths.

Great catch and it didn't seem that that the people replied mentioned this, but this is from the trivia section for this movie

Trey Parker has stated that he is a fan of the musical Les Misérables. The song "La Resistance" from South Park, Bigger Longer Uncut, is based on the Les Misérables song "One Day More".

Now I have never watched the musical, or even the more recent film version of it, so I wouldn't call myself a fan of Les Miserables but go here for the source to my answer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0158983/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv , if you look there right now you will see it. All you need to do is to copy and paste the link in your url, as the link will not link up and I have never really known how to fix it so the link can link up all on its own.
