The title of this film
Is the title "bigger, longer and uncut" a double-entendre?
shareNo, it's a single-entendre.
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is God.
The original title of the film was "South Park: All Hell Breaks Loose" - which was rejected by the MPAA as it contained the word "Hell". So they offered up B, L & U as a 'screw you' counter title and the MPAA completely missed it and the title got approved.
Really? They must have some fairly thick people working for them if they missed something like that.
shareYeah, they did that with everything about the movie. That's how it's as over the edge as it is and still got the R. The way Matt and Trey told it is, you submit your film to the MPAA, and they say, "No, this won't do," but they won't tell you what specifically is wrong, because then they would be admitting that they were a censoring agency, or something. So the boys would submit a version of their film, the MPAA would say "No, this won't do," and they would then submit another version of the film that was even WORSE than the one they had submitted the first time. The title is one of many things they snuck by the MPAA simply by relentlessly mindfxcking and confusing them; I'm sure the censors had never seen anything quite like it from any other filmmakers.
Get on up.
Actually that was only about their independent film Orgasmo, for South Park they were given a list of exactly what they needed to cut in order to get the R rating.
shareUrban myth, seemingly supported by Parker and Stone. There have been plenty of movies with Hell in the title. Hell Boy. The Legend of Hell House. From Hell. In Hell. Hellraiser. Straight to Hell. Jingle Hell. Motel Hell. Drag Me to Hell... etc.

Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?
No its not a myth. They explain this in the commentary. Trey and Matt were surprised since they said there were a ton of movies with "hell" in the title. However, the MPAA said that "cartoons" could not have hell in it (which they thought was BS), but ended up getting "Bigger, Longer & Uncut", and to their surprise, it got approved.
shareI'm so glad someone brought this up. I just realized it now when I typed it into the search bar.
shareNot sure about that one or even if I want to go there on that one
