I felt it was one of the weaker songs in the movie. My only thought is that all the good songs contained too much swearing.

What song would you nominate?
I reckon IT'S EASY, M'KAY was the best song but the language was the killer for the oscar nomination.
I is very good at mathimaticals and engliz speakings.
I would have nominated Kyle's Mom's a Bitch. However, the use of the word "BITCH" is too frequent for the Academy. I didn't think it was used that much to be fair.

Plus that one wasn't an 'original song' and thus wouldn't have qualified for the award in the first place.
It was originally from the episode of the show 'Mr Hankey, the Christmas Poo'.
Personally, I think Blame Canada is one of the stronger songs in the film although if you ask me, all 5 of the nominations that year should have gone to the South Park movie.
Uncle *beep* What Would Brian Boitano Do?, It's Easy Mmm'kay, Blame Canada and finally: La Resistance (Medley) which should have won.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten that! Haven't seen that episode in a while.
Blame Canada is brilliant, it should have won. At least the Academy recognised a film that deserved a nomination for once, though!

I also thought Blame Canada was kinda boring. But it was cool that Robin Williams sang it at the academy awards.

It's hard to pick a stand-out from that wonderful set of songs. I guess, at a push, Mountain Town would be my favourite (discounting the La Resistance song, which borrowed heavily from the other songs in the movie).

Other songs were good, but "It's Easy" could have won, save for the profanity... I mean, it's chocked full of the trademark South park satire and social commentary... while Mr. Mackey's trying to get the kids not to use specific words, his little examples of how to use the substitute words are often mean-spirited... so it's OK to say mean and nasty things to someone, so long as you don't use a "bad word". "'kiss my buns', or 'you're a buns-hole'" Classic.
I think "Mountain Town" was a much more direct descendant of the opening song "Belle" from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. It definitely owes something to "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning," but looking at the structure of the song you can see some pretty direct parallels to "Belle."
