Season 7 is really underrated IMO

It's definitely the best of the second half of the series (5-8) and I personally like it better than season 1 as well.

I like everything in S7 except the Avatar storyline. IMO, just plain boring and dragged out. But the rest is good (don't think it even comes close to season 1, but thats just me) S7 just suffers from being in the middle of bad seasons

It had a good mix of funny and seriousness. Zankou, the avatars, drake, Kira, more involvement with the angel of death and seeing Cole once more. Made it quite interesting and the season had a pretty good finale battle.

You can tell they really thought it was going to be the last season and wanted to try to make it the best, especially once you got past the stupid avatar storyline (that should've been left behind in Season 5 where it belonged, like Cole should've been left behind in Season 4). For Season 8, it looks like they were too tired of it (especially Rose) and didn't really try.

I have a friend who skips S5, S6 and S8 and starts S7 with 'Styx Feet Under' while skipping 'Once in a Blue Moon', 'Someone to Witch Over Me' and 'Imaginary Fiends' (she skips any signs of Wyatt and Chris so the emphasis remains on the sisters and 'Once in a Blue Moon' is simply bad). She finds it's a much better series that way.

That would work if skipping Wyatt and Chris episodes is the aim but I would have still watched Cheaper By the Coven then go on to Styx feet under. Cheaper by the Coven is just too funny. And Once in a Blue Moon was really really bad. Every time I watch it I'm like Eewww!!! Plus the whole Once in a blue moon concept turning into warewolves made no sense. Just a stupid theory.

Just a stupid episode making fun of women having periods. It's horrible!

It's better than seasons 6 and 8, but I prefer season 5. There were sisterly moments and the characters hadn't completely gone to crap just yet.

Season 7 seemed a little pointless.

The Phoebe/Cole storyline and Paige turning into a ditz after being so great during Season 4 ruins Season 5 for me. Piper and Leo were the only ones who hadn't gone to crap for me, at least until 'Oh, My Goddess', although I count that as part of S6.

They were also crappy in Season 7 (except for Phoebe when she was with Kyra or with Drake), but if you skip S5 and S6, they don't *seem* as crappy for some reason.

As a standalone season, season 5 isn't so awful! I mean it's still Charmed..but it's Charmed! Season 5 captures that so bad it's so good aspect of Charmed. The show tried so hard to be Buffy in the previous seasons, but I think S5 manages to be just the messy show it is.

Season 7 was an attempt to improve, but it's issues stem from the characters. Also there weren't really any sisterly moments. The show was dragging along at this point. That being said, this season is a major step up from 6.

Personally, I also find season 7 rather good and watchable. Second half is really strong and finale of the season is spot on.
I like storyline about the Avatars because it strongly proves again how sisters are actually protectors of good magic and the world altogether. They overcame their desire for normal lives and they solidified their will about embracing their legacy and destiny. It was like confirmation of season's 4 finale when they realized they Charmed and actually works that way the best for all of them.
For me, it is better than 2nd, 3rd and 8th season and on par with season 5.

All the episodes of season 7 merge into 1 for me (bar 2 or 3).
It was samish, same storylines but with different characters.

For me, Kyra, Drake and Zankou were the best parts of S7, much more than the Charmed Ones.
