Tiffani Thiessen as Prue
If they had recast the role of Prue to Tiffani Thiessen when Shannen left, would you be content with that? Tiffani was offered the role of Prue back when they were considering recasting the role to another actress.
shareI personaly hate recasting! Paige, for me is the best route they could have taken with her replacement (although I'd prefer Prue). Shannen is the perfect Prue for me and could never be recasted. If they recast a more minor role it would be annoying, but I'd get over it, but not a lead like Prue

shareJennifer Love Hewitt would have been great as Paige. She looks remarkably similar to Alyssa Milano and was actually a TV star meaning she was more qualified to play Paige in TV show Charmed than Rose McGowan who was a movie star not a TV star. Rose herself strongly implied that Charmed ran for more years than she wanted.
"When I signed on for Charmed, I was replacing the lead actress, so I assumed that I would just be doing one season, MAYBE 2 seasons, which is what I wanted. I had no idea that Charmed would last FIVE more seasons(At one point, she CRIED when Charmed was renewed after the fifth season).
Drake is repetitive. He just raps the same thing over and over as if he is in an insane asylum!LOL:D
Apparently Eliza Dushku also auditioned or was considered.
shareDushku and Hewitt would both make a great Paige. I think McGowan did a good job. To me, everything wrong with her development, storylines etc is due to bad writing, and all characters suffered from that

Look what Holly was given and she still gave it her all. Ditto for Alyssa.
McGowan gave up after S5 and made it too clear on her reaction. That's not being a professional.
At the end, Paige should've been the one character who fans could admire - she still cared about someone besides herself and the family. Thanks to McGowan's acting, that wasn't the case.
I mean I see your point for sure, and I think many other actresses might have been better fits, but I personally like McGowan for Paige. Granted, yes, her acting was better and more commited her first two seasons
shareI sort of saw it differently. Everyone has their opinion which is totally fine but I thought after season 5 Paige came into her own and wasn't having to figure out who she was anymore and trying to suck up to Piper, I kind of loved the season 6 to 8 Paige. My problem is they took to long to develop Paige's character and by the time she was wh were she should have been the series was practically over.
shareI agree totally which is again, the problem with the character of Paige had nothing to do with the writing and everything to do with the acting. Thinking what an actress like JLH or Tiffani or others could've done with such a role and I just sigh in disappointment.
shareHolly and Rose were not really given the same material (after season 4). In season 4, when they actually cared about Paige, I can't help but notice Rose's acting is much better. Same goes to later episodes like Charmed Noir. Rose acted the way you'd think a character who comes to the forefront with plots about talking dogs and fairy tale creatures would act.
