A lovely message from Rose to Shannen. I didn't think they would have much of a rivalry since you know they never appeared on the show at the same time.
It was always more Alyssa vs Shannen.
Anyway the whole Rose being difficult thing, I can understand producers not wanting her to say things like "I cried every year when the show got renewed" since apparently she wanted out after season 5 which is all she expected the show to run for.
So yeah, can't really say I blame them for wanting to keep her quiet while the show was airing.

I don't think she's strictly talking about them being pitted against one another because of Charmed but because they are of the same era/age in Hollywood during that period in the 90s.
I never took her "difficult" comments to be about Charmed producers either, but the Hollywood machine on a bigger scale. She was seen as the gothic wild child for a while.

Think rose was just referring to the fact that she faced the same persecutions Shannon did on the set of charmed after she stepped into her role as Paige. Since going into the role she was already perceived as a bad girl coming from a lot of former negative publicity she had in the past. Seems rose had to keep proving herself oncset incase she got axed also. Probably partly why she didn't want to go beyond season 5.
shareI don't think it was really animosity, more that they were wary of each other, maybe even avoided at times. They were young and in the Hollywood bubble so probably believed news reports about each other which gave them certain perceptions. Only now they're older and wiser they can look back and see how ridiculous it all was.

Saw a picture of the two of them together. Shame we did not see them in a scene on the show. The four of them in the finale would have been great.

Hmm, I'm apparently the only one who thought it was weird she used Shannen's illness to go on a whole political rant about Hollywood. She hardly mentioned Shannen and I'm not sure what kind of rivalry in the media she's talking about. I thought it was all about Shannen and Alyssa.

Overall it was nice and puts across as a nice supportive message to Charmed fans in particular. Supporting someone with cancer fighting a battle in general is always very welcome in my opinion.
