Why do you watch?

I saw two episodes the other day and it was the worst thing I ever seen. It seems to have a big fanbase. I'm just curious if people really like it or is it just ironically. Not trying to troll just want to know thanks.

If you jump into an episode today, there's no way you could get it. We watch it because the first seasons were amazing back when they aired, so its all nostalgia mostly.

I started watching the show back in the early 00's like around 2001. The first episode I saw was the one about the kids and the ice cream truck. I instantly liked the show because I was happy to see Shannen on another show and the show seem pretty cool. Also I used to read the Charmed books.

What specifically did you not like?

Just seem badly made to me. Sorry if I'm not explaining it right English not my first language.

I wonder which two episodes you saw, because that could have a lot to do with it. If I personally saw an episode from season five to eight as my first exposure to the show, I probably wouldn't like it either.

There are many reasons why I like it, even when I know it isn't as good as it could be. I first saw it when I was a kid, so it holds a lot of nostalgic appeal. It was my first exposure to adult themes in a TV show, as I had only watched children's shows before then. I was able to look up to the sisters as well.

This show does a good job of inspiring me to use my imagination. I'm not in love with every episode, but the good ones make me think about ways it could have been different, or new ideas that they never explored on the show.

I'm also the only person that I know (besides people online, obviously), who watches this show, so it's sort of become something that's just for me. It's special in that way.

And tastes change with time. I recently rewatched the first season, and I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I love how old it looks, and the awkwardness of the stories and the sisters' personalities.

But ultimately, the seasons that I consider to be good are so appealing to me because the show was genuinely trying. You can tell, when watching early seasons, that a lot of thought was put into the storylines. Or when the actresses are in scenes together, they have real chemistry. I know it's far from perfect, but at least in the first half of the show, it's genuine, and I appreciate that.

It was a little while ago so I'm not sure what they were called. Remembering one of them running some kind of school.

That sounds like Magic School in season 6, which was far beyond when a decent amount of fans stop enjoying the show. I myself see that season and others around it as a parody of the true show.

If you're interested, I'd recommend trying an episode from the earlier seasons, like from 1-4. Seasons 3 and 4 are more exciting (at least to me), but seasons 1 and 2 are core to the foundation of the show. If you do watch one of these episodes, try to do so without expecting anything. I don't mean that you shouldn't expect quality out of it, but it was made a long time ago and comes across that way. Try an earlier episode and just watch it for what it is.
