I like Andy more then Leo.

I wish Andy become white lighter instead of Leo and wish Prue and Andy were main couple of show instead of Leo and Piper.

I was glad Andy didn't become a whitelighter. He seemed willing to put up with magic when needed, but I don't think he wanted to experience it that much. I think he'd resent being a whitelighter.

I do wish that he hadn't died and that he and Prue would have spent a good portion of the show trying to have a relationship instead of Piper and Leo. They didn't seem happy together quite a bit during the later seasons. And Leo being a regular character meant that the concept of whitelighters became more prominent, which changed the tone of the show.

Remember at the time Andy died the elders were probably already trying to figure out what to do about Leo and Pipers growing relationship. I don't think they would have made Andy a white-lighter and risk him reaching out to Prue also. Later on after piper and leo proved themselves it would have been okay. Like with Agent Brody reaching out to Paige. I always saw that as a makeup for what happened to Andy with Prue.

That's the problem - Leo never truly proved himself. If he had, he never would've become an Avatar and then a mortal.

I would've much preferred if Leo was never seen again after "Love Hurts" and instead Andy became their whitelighter. After being a cop, innocents would've been more important to him than getting into Prue's pants the way Leo kept trying to get into Piper's during Season Two, and Leo would've had more respect for his bosses, the Elders - although the Charmed Ones probably would've listened to him as little as they did to Leo.

And I don't think either Andy or Prue would want to get married and risk having children who evil could go after.

It would've been a much better show, especially if Piper was the one who ended up with Henry, the non-magical who could've given her a halfway normal life and stop her from whining.

Phoebe - I'd want her to end up with Kyra - they had the best relationship of all of Phoebe's.

That means no kids to take the spotlight away from the sisters.

It's a "grass is always greener" scenario though.

If that had indeed happened, do you not think all these years later you'd be posting something along the lines of "I would've much preferred Leo to stick around after "Love Hurts" and become their full time Whitelighter whilst Andy leave the show permanently."?

Babies kill TV shows!

LOL, remembering that Leo and Piper was my favorite couple and Leo my favorite male character up to 'Oh, My Goddess!' the first time I watched Charmed, you're probably absolutely right about that!

But I would've preferred their love story remaining my favorite one of the show and me wanting more rather than my least-favorite as it is now.

reply

Well, it would be nice for them to be a couple. Even a main couple but why a whitelighter? Piper was already dating one and Pheobe was dating a demon, so to me, it made sense for Prue to be with a human. I just wanted her to have a happy ending. reading her profile on the Wikia it just made me sad she did all that for her sister sisters, lost her mom a loved one and still died in the end without ever really having anything of her own. No kids. No romance. It just is sad to me.

reply

I like thinking she did get her happy ending - after all, she rejoined Andy only two years after she lost him. Much better than what happened to Sam after he lost Patty.

reply

I will accept that headcanon :) I remember when I first watched season 1 and at beginning I was like "who the hell is this Andy guy?" By the end of the season, I really liked him.

reply

Andy has more growth instead of regressing.

reply

But would he had he stayed for more than one season? We've seen how Leo was ruined and how Cole was ruined. I'll always wonder what they would've done to Andy had he stayed, but I'll always be glad we never had to find out.

reply

It is a shame that Ted King wanted out because he assumed that the Andy character would end up going nowhere. To his credit, there was no way he would have known the full potential Andy could have had. Leo became extremely prominent throught Charmed Seasons, and he and Leo were introduced around the same time.

Drake is repetitive. He just raps the same thing over and over as if he is in an insane asylum!LOL:D

Coincidentally, Brian Krause originally auditioned for Andy.

reply

I'm glad he got it. I wish he'd just remained part of one season because Julian McMahon got Andy and Neil Roberts (Rex) end up getting Cole - also just for one season. No one could play Cole in S4-5 as well as Julian did, much as I hate the character.

There was no real chemistry between Shannen and Ted while there was a ton between Shannen and Julian. Ditto for Alyssa and Julian vs Alyssa and Neil.

And my favorite Julian-role isn't Cole; it's John on "Profiler" where he played a character very similar to Andy.

reply

I think Julian should've continued on as Andy. The western ep showed chemistry

reply

*nods* Exactly so. Or if Phoebe had been the one who died and Cole and Prue would have to fight that chemistry... They would've due to their loyalty to her loyalty to her lost sister, but it would've been fun watching.

I would've loved for Cole to realize that he fell for the wrong sister - either Prue or Paige.

Or if no one had died and it was Phoebe and *Prue* who switched bodies rather than Phoebe and Paige - when Cole kissed Prue thinking she was Phoebe...oooo, finding out whose kiss truly turned him on rather than Phoebe who very simply tried to eat him alive because she was trying too hard - that could've been fun!

And, oh, man, have I taken this off-topic! Sorry!
