Who did people think Chris was?

I've watched Charmed over and over again, so I don't entirely remember my first watch through. I was wondering what or who people thought chris was the first time they watched the series. I've just rewatched "Chris-Crossed", the episode where the sisters find out that Chris is half witch and half white lighter.

The sisters were kept in the dark a while, so I'm sure there was plenty of speculation about Chris' true identity. So what did you think?

I watched the series when it was first aired and since I was already part of a message board, The Charmed Cafe, most of this comes from my memories of that site.

Most fans thought he was Wyatt come back, using a different name. I've heard that originally that's who he was supposed to be, but they decided it was too cliche.

Other fans thought that he was Paige's son, lying when he said that she was killed in order to throw them off, hence the reason why he came back when he did. It's why he got rid of Leo (the site the Cafe was attached to - thecharmedones.com - had a spoiler for us - if Brian Krause didn't sign his new contract, 'Oh, My Goddess' would've been the last time we saw Leo and this new whitelighter would be the Charmed Ones' whitelighter for the rest of the series. That's probably what threw us off of thinking of him as Wyatt's little brother more than anything else).

A LOT of fans thought he was the Phoetus (Phoebe & Cole's baby from Season Four) come back to life. I admit that that was my own guess, but mainly thanks to one of the best fanfics I've ever read, 'Carry On, My Wayward Son', written right after 'Oh, My Goddess!' was aired. Still wish that's who he had been.

Others thought he wasn't a Halliwell at all, just someone from the future determined to stop Wyatt.

I truly don't remember anyone who didn't think he was Wyatt thinking he was Piper and Leo's until it was revealed. And honestly, he'd lied so often and never once said he was sorry for those lies, I still didn't believe him and kept expecting him to admit he was someone else. Probably because I wanted him to be the Phoetus so badly...and if not, then Paige's, since he seemed to have a better connection with her than with Piper. Anything so the show wouldn't be all about Piper and her family and who cared about the rest...

But also first to admit that that was quite a while ago and my memory isn't what it used to be.

Something extra regarding this: Here's the spoiler that we got leading into Season Six:

What's new for the new season six?

Tidbits...

The Season Premiere will air September 28 on The WB.

We will see one of the sisters receive a new power, as well as find out what Chris (Whitelighter) did to/ or sent Leo, and how they will try to bring him back. The Chris/Leo plot line will most definitely be made into a 4-9 episode plot, possibly more because this is the "Big Plot" this season. The new Power will apparently be Phoebe's (still working on the name of power). Phoebe has another passive power and the power of levitation will be phased out and rarely used. I have just received word that Phoebe power of levitation won't be phased out due to the decision that more powers is in the shows best interest they will use it less but it will be used from time to time they won't eliminate this power she will have it just won't use it much throughout the season. The new Power will play a huge factor in the Chris Plot Line. Her "new" power isn't mind reading, but her emotions advance in such a way that she can respond to a persons thought even before they can.

First to admit that I read these types of spoilers, but never the actual spoilers of the episodes until after the episode aired.

Piper/Leo fans would probably find this interesting:

"I am a firm believer that love conquers all"…
These are the words we heard from Brad Kern, the executive producer of Charmed, in an interview that he gave in which we all understood that he meant Piper and Leo will come across an obstacle and overcome it. Many of you thought the obstacle was Chris right? Well, were we wrong to think this? Only time will tell, what Kern tells is something else. Brad tells us that due to the fact that Piper and Leo are no longer physically close they will eventually grow apart and this will lead Piper to search for love in someone else hoping to fill the void left by Leo, but will she? Kern also explains that Wyatt's powers will begin to grow and, Piper's need for someone will grow as well until she starts to date once again, but her dating life won't be easy as Wyatt will cause a series of events leading Piper to realize the reason that she can't hit it off" with anyone she meets is living in her own home, but don't think that Wyatt is being a spoiled child these are his efforts in reuniting his once separated family, as of now Kern's plans are to keep the two (Piper and Leo) separated at least until the end of the first half of the season maybe even beyond January. We will see a different part of Piper the part that we no longer saw after the second season. Brad believes that this is a necessary development for the series but apparently many fans disagree responding that Leo and Piper have been through too many barriers to become loose at this stage in the game, apparently he believes this can be fixed up in the season finale or at least he has some of ideas of how to fix it all, For the show's sake lets hope that he doesn't wait until the last episode of the season to tie up the loose ends,
but for now let’s hope that love does eventually conquer all"

And, of course, this changed because they found out that Holly was pregnant...

Lots of other interesting stuff on that page - check it out!

YES!!! Found something else I've been hunting for. My proof that as of the filming of 'Oh, My Goddess!' (when they knew Brian Krause was coming back and had already decided not to make this Whitelightera grownup Wyatt),Chris was NOT supposed to be Piper and Leo's...even if Brad Kern and Drew Fuller said otherwise....spin, spin, spin!

Holly Marie Combs Preggers
October 30, 2003 - EOnline- Lia Haberman

Charmed, we’re sure.

Holly Marie Combs and longtime boyfriend David Donoho reveal they are expecting their first child together in April in the upcoming issue of TV Guide.

Combs, who got her big break as Tom Skerritt's daughter on Picket Fences, is best known as sorceress Piper Halliwell on the WB's Charmed.

Donoho, who’s reportedly lived with the thesp since 2001, works as a key grip on the series.

It's a first child for both.

Combs was married to fellow actor Bryan Smith from 1993 to 1997 and briefly engaged to civilian Storm Lyndon before they split up in 2000.

Producers say Combs' real-life pregnancy will be worked into the show in time for February sweeps. But they're keeping mum on Piper's sperm donor. "Who says there is a father?" teased executive producer Brad Kern to TV Guide.

It's a go-around of sorts for Combs' character, who was happily married to Whitelighter Leo Wyatt and delivered the series' first baby during February sweeps last season before she split with her TV hubby.

My claim is close to yours as i use to follow charmed back when it aired and I remember him being a source from the future it a rogue whitelighter was very popular.

Watched it in real-time with my two sisters and mother; we all knew he was one of their kids, leaning heavily on Piper, after about his third episode.

Was not shocked he ended up being Wyatt's little brother at all. It did not hurt that he was handsome. Though they attempted to make him 'seem' evil, we were sure that was purposeful. Though we did dislike some of the things he did initially.
