Illmatic's "One Love" connection to Rastell (QB) project scene

I just recently saw this movie again for maybe the fourth time. First time I must have been 13 and this last time, 27. It makes a lot more sense to me now and is highly underrated and goes way over a lot of people's heads. Indeed, the plot is not very cogent but the film is brilliant overall, thanks to the superb cinematography.

Anyways, listening to Illmatic recently as well had me draw a connection between Nas' scene near the end of Belly where he goes to visit Queensbridge at dawn. He can only find a 12-year old boy named Shorty (i.e., Shorty Doo-Wop from One Love). The conversation is a direct parallel with the 3rd verse of "One Love" on Illmatic. Once I realized this, I went over to rapgenius and found that some folks drew the same connection a couple of years ago. Nas and Sincere are heavy reflections of each other and the same knowledge that Nas has been dropping since he was a young teen is the same as in the movie (and now).
