So who else believes that the Video Dead gave the Ring(Ringu) ppl in Japan the idea of the monster coming through the TV set? After watching this earlier today, track Video Dead down on VHS, I'm convinced this movie spawned Ringu lol.
Also, the kitchen dinner scene near the end seems like it was ripped off as well in Dead Alive.
I think Video Dead, inspired other movies ;)
There is also monsters going trough the Tv in the more widely known "Demons 2".
"Videodrome" also blend the Tv and reality in some ways, like James woods making out with his Tv sett....

I would bet that poltergeist inspired ring more than Video Dead.

Very observant. I never thought of those things. The Video Dead is my favorite zombie flick and Dead Alive is definitely the bloodiest. The Ring was just corny.
