Batman logo

Have you noticed the Batman's logo in the door of The Young Man's apartment?

I think it's kinda funny, especially thinking that when Nolan shoot this movie he wasn't even remotely thinking that he would direct a Batman movie. If that's not fate, I don't know what is

They call it a Royale with cheese...

There is also a Batman logo in Memento after Leonard escapes from being chased by Dodd. {I will leave it to you to find one in Insomnia, The Prestige, and Inception...)

What is even funnier than Nolan's fate is that the young man's flat was actually the flat of Jeremy Theobald (the man playing the young man) and it was his Batman logo on the door. Years later he would actually have a speaking role in a Batman film. (Perhaps Nolan took the directing job for Batman Beginsjust to give his friend a role in a Batman film...)

I didn't remember about the Batman logo in Memento, I'm gonna try to rewatch it, at least that scene.

But the ones in The Prestige and Inception are not that surprising because at that time he was already the director of the Batman's franchise.

If you find one in any of those films. be sure to post back where you see them...

I guess Nolan has always had respect for Batman. Didn't he lobby to originally get Begins made?

Perhaps, but the logo on the door is Jeremy Theobalds. It was Theobald's flat (with the Batman logo) that was used for the the young man's flat...

Just a followup quote from Jeremy Theobald on the Batman logo

"Keen-eyed viewers have spotted a Batman logo on the door of the flat. Some call it ironic (incorrectly), others say it’s prescient. Actually, I’d put it up in 1989 when I moved there; there was a film out called Batman that year... "

My uncle sell cars and he saw lots of cars when he was a kid.

I think it's kinda funny, especially thinking that when he was little he wasn't even remotely thinking that he would sell cars. If that's not fate, I don't know what is

It was just foreshadowing.

I'm the guy who does his job, you must be the other guy.

reply

Lmao I just saw this. Remarkable foreshadowing.

I voted Yes on the SAG-AFTRA merger. You mad?
