Fingerprints on claw hammer...

We're shown the Young Man is cautious and wears gloves even during the first robbery with Cobb. So why then does he not have them on during his solo robbery at Baldy's place where he bludgeons the man with his hammer? I realize its mentioned in the goofs about the continuity error as he's wearing them in the initial safe shot and not in the next but still, it makes the whole leaving fingerprints on the hammer seem forced. And this is overlooking the fact that he could have just wiped the hammer down afterwards, much less not leave them at the girl's place. I realize he's not shown to be that bright to begin, but this was just out of character or forced because of script leading up to the reveal.

Does it just not matter because him having the girl's items at his place and the overall MO is enough to indict him? For Nolan, any editing crew, family/ friends or test audience (if they had any) to not spot this when Nolan is known for his attention to details is also just bizarre. Am I missing something?

He was taping up money, probably found using tape with his bare hands easier (which is true). He didn't expect someone to show up.

If they have already made it clear that he isn't very bright, then it isn't very out of character, is it? You just want him to do what you think is right. Doesn't work that way.

I meant that it seemed like it went beyond his character to facilitate the plot as that sequence showing his mistake wasn't executed well enough to infer your interpretation for me, as far as I recall. I don't remember more about it to comment further, its been 2.5 years, I rated it a 6 and made room for better movies in my memory.

there is where he is preparing getting the hammer and wearing the gloves
but in the robbery he was not wearing it i think he forgot as it was his first rob
