Most predictable cartoon ever created

Every episode:
Dog wakes up, chases a garbage truck much to the dismay of Cat while panting and drooling like a total idiot, Cat gets smacked around a lot and eventually beaten up by the Greasers, something stupid happens, Cat gets a shot at something good, Dog ruins it, they get beaten up again, episode ends with Cat screaming.

Why did they re-run this garbage for so many years while cancelling brilliant late-90s Nick shows like The Angry Beavers, Invader Zim, and Pelswick? At least those shows were original and funny, neither of which CatDog was.

oh please Pelswick was boring as hell and a rip off of TIMMY from South Park!
and by boring I mean it was worse than Doug!

...the earth is doomed...

You definitly didn't even list the best Nick classics. I loved all 3 but Angry Beavers is only like a semi-classic and I would compare it with CatDog. Invader Zim gained like a cult fanbase though it was good. And Pelswick has barely any fans out there who care about it. The drawings for the show were pretty crappy too. At least CatDog paid attention to detail and had not like scribbly lines around the characters. The true classic Nick cartoons are Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life (you didn't mention this??), Doug (hey don't bash Doug, it was a great show! though not a fan of the Disney version), Hey Arnold!, Aaah! Real Monsters, and Rugrats (before Dil entered the picture). Plus you're saying Pelswick was better than this is not true because CatDog was definitly better than it. Half the time all Pelswick did was swoon over some girl, get in some kind of mess, and have his grandma act like a crazy lady. Oh and have his guardian angel dude pop up and say something stupid. So original too!

And As Told by Ginger in my opinion was the best of the late 90's early 2000s cartoons. The animation, storylines, etc was incredible imo.

That barely ever happens in the endings!
