Can't believe how bad this show is being critacized.

People hate it ?

I'm recently back from a two week holiday, late at night I caught this show on Nickelodeon, it was halfway through the one where CatDog work for Rancid Rabbit jmaking cereal boxes in acavity crunch factory. I thought the animation or whatever took a bit of getting used to, but underneath was a thoroughly ammusing entertaining, and intelligent show. The next couple of episodes I saw, REALLY sealed the deal, I tuned in and watched EVERY two episode broadcasting each night.

The show made me laugh, and I thought the stories and humour both worked very well. I was surprised to read people giving off about the show being , what was it ? Over the top, too unbelievable, bad animation etc.

To be honest, none of these things botherd me, I didn't think the "over the top"ness ruined it, I enjoyed the show for what it was. Surely the over-the-top nature is what makes it so ammusing ! That's right, I laughed atleast once, at almost EVERY story.

The only one I didn't like atall, was the one "Fetch", that was just stupid, I saw that one and was worried the show had gotten better animation but crappier stories. Fortunately, it turned out to be just a one-off for the Rugrats movie.

I don't think it's the best thing ever, but I definitely think it deserves more than a 6.3 rating. Perhaps a 7.

I too am surprised I assumed it was a well loved 90s classic like Ren and Stumpy and Rockos modern life. Ren and Stumpy was a much more disturbing cartoon.

I had mixed feelings about it when it first aired in 1998, especially after it replaced Rocko during the Nicktoons Summer beach house. but then I grew to love it. Me and my cousin used to always imitate Rancid Rabbit singing "He's rich he's rich he's rich he's rich he's rich as can be!" in the dream sequence episode. I felt bad for Cat most of the time though, like the Trespasser episode where Winslow made their house burn down and the one with the Little cat puppet and the one where he has the nightmare where Dog and Shriek get married.
Watching episodes on Kisscartoon now after I don't know, at least 10 years. Still fresh in my mind. I love the All You Can't Eat episode.

I like the show. I can see where some may feel it has a depressing, or morbid side to it. But overall, I liked the show.

Now my mother, and brother were in the camp that hated it. They both thought it was stupid, and not in a good way. My mother hated Winslow. But some things she did find funny. But the overall show, for her, wasn't a gem. Some of her favorite lines.

When Dog drops one of the eggs on the floor while making breakfast

Dog "Oops. Sorry Cat."
Cat "That's ok Dog. That was your fried egg."

Winslow (to CD) "You Made me dinner? If there's poison in here, I will sue."

The Mailman's line in Fistfull of Mail
I'm not the paperboy anymore. I'm, the mailman.

And when Shriek tells Lube to run from the dog catcher, and he runs right into the truck.
"I'm beginnin to suspect that Lube is stupid..."

Now my brother liked Winslow. But he was the only thing of the show he liked, from what I recall.
