A geek?? Leelee Sobieski was hotter than ANY of the girls...

Thus why she was originally offered the role of Kristin.
shareBelieve it or not, you can be hot and be a geek. Besides, the reason she was labeled a geek was because she followed her own path instead of following the crowd.
shareThis is true. Sometimes it's assumed that popularity is based simply on looks. Not even close. I've seen gorgeous girls that were shy and quiet with few friends, and more than a couple of the so-called "popular" girls were not particularly attractive. Loud and obnoxious sometimes equals popularity among kids for some strange reason, and sometimes it's simply who became friends, by chance, early on with the "right" group that somehow eventually ended up at the top of the totem pole. Most of the time that group is physically indistinguishable from the rest of the students, and vice versa.
shareThis is true. I didn't find Nicole or Mary Cherry or even Brooke McQueen prettier than Sam, Lily and Carmen in the TV show popular. The geeky girls were ALL hotter than the popular girls.
Also, if anyone's seen Carrie, Norma (the one in the baseball cap) was part of the popular crowd and was very average looking.

YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE
I was one of those shy/quiet, semi-geeky but cuteish girls in HS. I'm not saying I was hotter than the "in" crowd girls, but more and more my current bf and other guys before him, have told me I look really pretty and then I realized, it's very common for the shy girls to be gorgeous. They just aren't popular is all. I agree, it's all based on personality.
shareIn Hollywood movies girls that are supposed to be homely are played by attractive actresses. And fat girls are played by normal weight actresses. The best example was Jan in the movie "Grease". She wasn't fat, just a sloppy dresser.

I think sometimes the shy girls have a hard time learning beauty tricks too. Takes them longer to learn how to use and accentuate their best features. But once they get some confidence BAM gorgeous.

I honestly dont find Leelee the least bit attractive. I thought Marley Shelton was the prettiest.

I'm sorry, but Marley Shelton is a classic beauty that has facial proportions closer to the ideal than Leelee's. The later is attractive but she ain't no beauty.
shareAin't no beauty? I'm sensing some major insecurity on your behalf. Or maybe you just need glasses. Leelee has beauty in spades. What isn't ideal about her features? She has a slim narrow nose (rhinoplasty dream!), perfectly plump lips, a skin tone to die for and gorgeous eyes. Marley Shelton is just a factory-assembled Barbie doll, nothing singles her out from any of the other Hollywood Stepford blondes. I'd take Leelee any day of the week!

Like others have said, often looks have startlingly little to do with popularity.
Some of biggest bullies I've encountered were some of the most hideous people I've seen, literally.
The best example was a girl named Emma. She ruled the classroom, yet she had a dumpy witch's face & dishwater blonde hair in no style.
I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.
I didn't think she was all that hot but her being a geek loser I would have taken advantage of that back in the day, I would have been nice to her, taken her out on a date or two, told how good she looked and then would have wound up taking her virginity and using her over and over until I got bored with her.
shareI just read this. You, sir, are hilarious. Yes, I did the same things. My girlfriend for a couple of years in high school was a cute band geek/nerd. She had an awesome body, was very clean (and clean smelling) and dressed normal, though she did have some hot mini skirts and matching tops. Her only knocks was that she had a big nose, high pitched voice and was a nerd/band geek. But I took her virginity in all three holes, banged her on a regular basis, cheated on her routinely in college and we eventually broke up.
Today, she is married with children. I have often thought about "accidentally" bumping into her husband and saying "Hey! We're practically related!" HA HA HA.
Geek/nerd chicks are the best. They often are good looking but lack confidence. They probably don't have a boyfriend. They are almost guaranteed to be virgins and open to suggestion.
These days, with smart phones and social media, it might be harder to screw around and take advantage of so many women but the opportunity still exists for younger dudes.
But...she ahd glasses and a ponytail!
Lol. She was physically very attractive, but was labeled a geek because of her personality, interests, and clothing.
