A year and a half later, I'm having the same problem. How the flip am I supposed to watch all 1001 of the 1001 films I must see before I die? "MUST" mind; and Darth Vader is pointing at me from the cover.
ARGH!

There is an unofficial dvd around, but its image quality is bad and I'm not sure if it has English subtitle.
According to Twitch, "A digital restoration of Kim Ki-Young’s classic 하녀 (The Housemaid) coming to DVD shelves is not too far off."

But i'm not sure when it will, can't wait to see it..

May have some luck with a future criterion release, they're suposed to work with Scorsese's fundation who restored the film.

As of right now it's free to watch on The Auteurs.

Any luck in getting the DVD? I saw the 2010 version and was hoping to see this one.

By now (all these years later) you can download the 1960 version from both iTunes and Amazon.

It's also on the DVD/Blu-Ray set from Criterion called:

Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project

I just can't find this film anywhere and I am dying to see it. Does anybody know whether, as a UK resident, I'm able to stream this from Amazon.COM?
Alternatively does anyone have an Eng subtitled copy they would kindly transfer me for download?
The boxset is now out of print and costs a fortune to buy.

Just saw it tonight... unless you are really really really into movies, don't waste your time. I can't decide if it was a joke or serious or what... bad acting, ridiculous script... some curiously interesting cinematography but geeeez... how did it get a rep? Who would call this one of 1,001 movies you must see?
