Major differences
What are some differences from the book that anyone has noticed?
shareI haven't seen the movie but have just finished the book, and I can tell you only this: John Grady Cole is supposed to be 16, Rawlins 17, Jimmy Blevins 13 and I believe Alejandra is 15. There's no way in hell Matt Damon and that E.T. kid could ever pull off being teenagers-- the characters' young ages are supposed to quietly indicate exactly how extraordinarily poised, smart and strong they are. Otherwise, they're just Marlboro men who get into a fix, no? I really can't imagine this movie being very good.
sharematt damon could pass for 17 in this movie easy. he lost so much weight, and can't grow any facial hair
shareCome on guys
I really would like to know all the differences.......pleasee
I read the book a few years ago, after I watched the movie, and the impression that I had was that the movie and the book were almost identical. Even down to the dialogue.
Yes! I thought that the movie was actually a very good adaptation of the movie, aside from the fact that the main characters were supposed to be teenagers. However, that detail aside, I noticed that the dialogue was the same in many parts as well.
