End of the century

The fact is,no century really ends in a "9",because centuries,or anything ELSE that's counted, such as decades,do not start with "0"! Think about it! Does one start counting pennies, for example,by saying,"zero,one,two,three..." NO,one does not! In other words, there WAS no year "0"! I am leading up to the fact that the end of the century SHOULD have been the year 2000,NOT 1999. The beginning of THIS century then, should have been 2001,NOT 2000. This is simple arithmetic, and nothing else. Btw,there IS no logical argument against my reasoning,so don't even bother.

Years are dollars... seconds are cents.

To be able to count a dollar, you need 99 cents...

Therefore January 1st, 2000 at 12:00:01 AM is the beginning of the century.

January 1st, 2001... is already the completion of the first year of the century (one whole dollar), and the second has already begun... like saying $1.01... on it's way to the second dollar... year 2002, as soon as that begins you are counting again at: $2.01.

If I had EVER started counting ANYTHING in grade school by starting with "zero" I would have been laughed out of class. My friend, YOU need to go BACK to school and learn the basic fact that there WAS no year "ZERO" and there never WILL be! Ask any mathematician about when a century starts and ends, and you will see that I am correct.

This counts...

0.0
0.1 (this)
0.2 (this)
0.3 (this)
0.4 (this)
0.5 (this)
0.6 (this)
0.7 (this)
0.8 (this)
0.9 (this)
1.0 (this) - representing year 2001

I really don't know why you are being obtuse about my point. I suppose you are unable to process simple arithmetic! Please continue to count things by starting with zero, and not "one"!

I've read that computer programmers count from zero for some reason, so it's not unprecedented. Just FYI.
