How do you feel about how Angelina Jolie's character is shown in this film as a female role model for people? and do you feel that she is a strong character that goes against stereotypes of female characters from films that are like from 10 years ago.
shareTBH, I really have a hard time believing that the character of Lara Croft can be considered a role model, for anybody, regardless of who plays her.

Yup. She's pretty much a bored rich girl who steals ancient artifacts and shoots people for fun. Not that there's anything wrong with that. She's just not the traditional heroine one would expect these days.
There is a man...he travels fast...he has purpose...he brings violence and destruction.
She is a strong female character, but it's still mostly about the way she looks and her image, which is very unrealistic (her top half!) so I would say that she doesn't subvert from the representation of female characters from ten years ago too much, despite her not being a typical damsel in distress.
