The director was hyping it as far back as 2007. Was it UK only or something?

Nope unfortunately. If you watch the movie trailer there are so many things that aren't in the actual movie. It's a shame because the story could use a little more work.
shareHaving read the final script, there are just few little changes here and there. Like Simon West teased back in 2001 and again some time around 2006 was an alternate scenes not extended or director's cut.
There are scenes of Lara discovering a canoe in the jungle and going through the river (before arriving at the monastery) more scenes with Powell but nothing HUGE was deleted. So like he said. Alternate cut. But because I feel editing was the one thing wrong with that movie, I would love to see a different cut.
It would have been great to see an extended cut.
