The whole Lara thing. From the games.

How does she get so wealthy raiding tombs? Does she steal stuff and sell it that she's stolen from the tombs?

Also why record everything she does when no one in the world will see her videos and such. This would be an excellent thing to open the world to and show them all the sciencey magic things she finds. But no keep it all private. Why?

Much of her 'wealth' would appear to be inherited from her father.
She seems concerned at accidentally bidding a few million on some random auction, yet thinks nothing of trashing what must be a few million quid's worth of vehicles in her garage.
But yes, she likely does also acquire exceptionally valuable artifacts and then sell them, either to rich museums or rich private individuals.
Kinda illegal, especially in this day and age. Indiana Jones *at least* had the backing of Marcus Brody's museum... and in some cases, the US government.

Lara is essentially just a grave robber.

I expect she at least shows the videos to buyers of her artifacts, as Certification Of Authenticity if nothing else. Perhaps she also keeps it for her own personal gloating?

Anyway, where is it said she never shows anyone?
I imagine she'd either keep the magicky things quiet, lest she be thought a nutter or that it's kept quiet by the Gov'mint types...

Agree!

But yes, Lara is essentially a grave robber; hence, Tomb Raider!

I can't remember if this was mentioned in the movie at all, but Lara and the Croft family are actually part of English nobility, hence the wealth.

Her title is ficitious I think, but in the games her father was the Count of Abbingdon, and Lara is the new Countess of Abbingdon.

In the original game she had basically been disowned by her parents due to her adventuring and was making money as an explorer.

There is a man...he travels fast...he has purpose...he brings violence and destruction.
