Remember the hype over this movie?

It was just about as big of a craze as Star Wars: Episode I was in 1999. Everyone was quoting it and talking about it. Everywhere I went I saw Austin Powers t-shirts, action figures, etc. I was 11 at the time. I remember my parents buying me the Spy Who Shagged Me soundtrack on CD, a Dr. Evil t-shirt, action figures of Austin Powers, Dr. Evil and Mine-Me, and even an Austin Powers dartboard. I remember walking through Hollywood with my mom and grandma that summer and seeing a huge Austin Powers poster that took up the entire side of a skyscraper.

I totally remember it! It was one out of many good reasons why 1999 was an awesome year for me. I love that year and this movie played a huge role in it. I would even go as far as to say it's my most favorite out of the trilogy. That summer, oh how I still remember it. I LOVE it with all my heart. I think what really made the movie so much more memorable was Mini-Me. Everyone couldn't stop talking about him. He made that movie.

Indeed. My sister and her friend considered camping out before the premier to get the attention of a local news station.

I truly hope that a forth film would be a big deal too!

I do..INCLUDING the fuss 'cross the Atlantic in Austin's home nation over the word Shag, given the actual meaning. Also love that year and the movie for a big reason as well..and the big standee of Austian and Felicity as well.

Yes, I remember it. I saw this in the theaters then. I thought it lost some of its cuteness and cache it had from the first one. It got a little too gross with the gross jokes, fat bastard naked, drinking the "coffee" etc.

I do remember some of my friends, all summer, yelling "get in my belly!".

It was a huge movie, especially for a comedy. It was like "The Hangover", or better yet "Ghostbusters". Merchandise, a great soundtrack, and quotable lines were prevalent all summer long.
