the dentures scene ...

Its been years since I have read the book or seen the movie, but I remember thinking that the one scene where Malachy (sp?) takes the father's false teeth, puts them in his mouth and the eventually get stuck.

This scene made me die when I read it in the book, and I was SO dissapointed that it wasn't in the film adaptation. I guess with a book with so much to it its hard to get it ALL into a movie ... But still, with all of the awfulness that Frank McCourt and his family had to endure, it would have been nice to see another little scene that could lighten things up - if only for a short while.

Cheers.

I felt they left out some very good cinematic possibilities as well, for instance my favorite small character "Question" was completely left out, with such a dreary, sad situation his comic relief in the school scenes would have been nice.

Also, the absence of sick girl in the hospital and the exchange between frank, her, the nurse and the janitor would have been very engaging.
