The audio version, read by Frank McCourt

A couple of people have mentioned here that they were thinking of reading the book...I just listened to the unabridged audiobook version read by Frank himself. I highly recommend it, it's probably the best way to truly hear the story as it was lived (unless you live next to Frank McCourt). There's something about hearing the story in his own words...

I recently purchased the audio CD's and I was so excited to see that it is read by McCourt himself :-) however, it took me forever to find the book on Audio, did you order yours online?

Did you listen to the DVD commentary by McCourt himself? Priceless. Alan Parker has his own track. Good thing that they did that. Not that these two guys would not communicate well, but although Alan Parker is a big fan of Ireland and has made great Irish movies (The Commitments, The Snaper), McCourt has his own way of telling things and that's music to the ears.

I rented it from Recorded books online, actually! Great source. I pay about 30 a month and have 4 books out at a time.
