I'm remember flipping ahead in my copy of Angela's Ashes and i found out that Frank knew somebody he and his friends called Quasimodo.The kid was a hunchback (duh),and was locked up in a basement with a wall that covered the window.
I think that Frank and his friends treated it like a freak show and ended up saving him(if memory serves).
Can somebody refresh my memory on this?

If I remember right, Quasimodo was one of their friends and/or classmates from school. He was hunchbacked (hence the nickname) but wanted to be a radio anouncer on the BBC. He had a great english accent and to save up money he would get kids to pay him to let them climb the waterspout next to his house and watch his sisters bathe. However, the first time Frank agrees to this, Mikey Malloy pushes ahead of them in line and climbs the spout, and while he's climbing, he shakes it and it collapses. Mikey has a seizure and all the boys get busted. Later, they find out Quasimodo died of the consumption and never became a radio announcer :(.
