Any one think that frank McCourt was telling the truth when he wrote about Limerick in Angela's Ashes?

shareThough I'm not from Limerick (I'm from Mayo another county on the west coast of Ireland) the scenes depicting life in Limerick would have been quite accurate for all of Ireland during that era. My mother would tell me stories growing up on a rural farm in the 60's and 70's which was just as bad, if not worse than life in the cities.
