What happened to Frank's brother Kevin/Sean?

I was wondering what happened to Angela's last (youngest) child? When he was born, I think she said she was going to name him either Kevin or Sean, I'm not sure which she chose. When Frank's dad came home for Christmas, Angela had 4 sons with her. Later when they were evicted from their home (the two bedroom where they took out the wall) and moved in with relatives, Frank says that it was him, his mother, Malachy and Michael. I have seen the movie twice now but have not read the book. Did I miss this? What happened to her last little boy? Did they even mention it in the movie?

If anyone can answer this for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

she named him Alphie (Alphonsus) and nothing happened to him. he lived and is alive today i think. why you didn't see him in the movie, i don't know. i haven't seen the movie in a long time.

you should read the book, it's an easy read and will help you understand the movie.

I was actually wondering the same thing. I do remember them saying they settled on Alphie. but on the part that the OP is referencing, Frankie does not mention Alphie as one of the family that left the house when evicted. He says, (excuse the spelling)Malachi, Michael, mom & me. Even in the scences at the cousin's house they moved to, you only see three boys.

yeah i can't account for that, guess i need to watch the movie again. but to answer the OP's question, the child lived.

Yeah, he lives. They name him Alphonse. One of the lines in the movie has Frank saying "Alphonse? That's a stupid name." and if memory serves me correct, someone hits him.

In the scene where Frank leaves his cousins and goes to his uncle, you can see Alphie sleeping in a bed by himself with Malachy and Michael in another bed. Not sure what happened to him prior to that.
