My take: it's 'inaccurate,' but not a lie


McCourt was remembering most of these incidents from 60 years or more before, of course a kid is not always told everything that is going on so many of his recollections of events may not have been verifiable as fact.

However the events were as he RECALLED them happening, so strictly speaking, he wasn't lying.
