The Theatrical Cut

Ok, I live in the States and I detest, with a fierceness, the producer's cut. I know the theatrical cut is out there somewhere on DVD, but not in the US. My question is, are any of the copies of the theatrical cut out there Region 0, or otherwise able to play in a North American region DVD player, and if so where can it be acquired? I really want to be able to see the theatrical cut again, and would appreciate any help in locating a copy. Thanks.

I can only vouch for the Scandinavian and German releases and they are both Region 2 (besides being in the PAL tv format). There is also a Czech and a Baltic release but I would assume they are both Region 2 (the Baltic one may be both 2 and 5 encoded).
I fear the only avenue for you is to try to find a cheap and stable DVD player that is region free and possibly also converts from PAL to NTSC.
Wish I could give you a better reply than this...

Aside from that, I would recommend the German 2-DVD set which has a good amount of interesting extras. The Scandinavian suffers from harder compression during the extras and can be tough to watch.

I've done a little research and it does seem as if the Japan DVD of Endgame also contains the theatrical cut. Most sites states a length of 88 minutes.
While it is R2 it is in NTSC so it is compatible with your TV set. It may be simpler to find a region hack for your current dvd player and get this DVD than buying a new for a PAL disc?

Thanks for the advice. Yes, this does sound like it could be a viable option. I'll have to look into it some more. Since I doubt we'll ever see the real version of the film on DVD in the States, these may very well be my only options. Once again, thanks, and I'll see what I can do.

I can now tell you that the Japan DVD is in fact the Producer's Cut and not the theatrical version. That leaves only the PAL formatted DVD's to choose from.

Aside from it being approx. 13 minutes shorter? For starters, after the opening credits and opening narration of Connor the theatrical begins with Rachel entering the antique shop while the producers cut has Connor and Duncan leaving the subway and getting a hot dog.

Methos explicitly describes the Sanctuary as being on Holy Ground (as he does in the "rough cut"). The "happy ending" with Duncan turning around to meet Faith at a new years celebration is gone, implying that she was actually killed as he thought (so the movie just ends with the visit to Connor's grave).

Also the scene with Dawson shooting the renegade Watcher isn't in the theatrical version, nor is the scene of Duncan's Katana being returned to him. I'm pretty sure the "ketchup" scene is also gone. There's a lot more head-morphing in the theatrical version and the final quickening effects I think look slightly different. Also in the Producer's cut several far shots of the big JVC sign were blurred out (lost the promotional rights I guess). I think a shot or two in Connor's ruined vault were added in the PC as well. I can't remember what else. Mostly little things.
