Endgame/Series question

I don't know much about the series, so I was hoping someone on here might be able to help.

In Endgame, we see Duncan laying on a battlefield and waking up to see Connor standing above him--this is obviously the first meeting of the two, and (I thought) the moment when Duncan discovered he was an immortal.

However, in the show, we see Duncan recovering from his wounds and being driven from his village in a different situation.

So, my question is, was the scene in Endgame supposed to be the aftermath of a later battle in Duncan's life? Or is it just a huge plot hole?

the event took place a while after Duncan was banished from the village. Adrian Paul explained how even though Duncan was banished , he still fought in battle with the clan.
the dates are also different.

I wonder if the Clan ever clicked as to who the bad ass stranger was. LOL

who him? He's just some guy

Duncan MacLeod: You're an a--hole.
Methos: I never said I was deep.

The Series pretty firmly stated that he had his first death at his village and was then driven out. He wandered the country for like 2 or 3 years - He eventually met that hermit Immortal who gave him his first Quickening by suicide. To the best of my memory, that hermit fortold Connor would be Duncan's teacher??? The whole thing stumped Duncan who didn't fully understand who/what he was. He then returned to his village when he heard of his father's murder by that Viking dude. His mother gave him his Ancestral sword which he later used to ice the Viking dude. Then, low and behold, Duncan meets Connor and spends the next, like, century (not sure) training with him. They part ways and meet up again periodically until Duncan's Native American lover is slaughtered and he decides to go into exile in his Holy Ground Hut he builds.

Endgame pretty much ignores that whole genesis arc and show's Connor rocking up at the end of the battle where Duncan has his first death.

I prefer the Series genesis personally.

I have inside me blood of kings - YEAH!
