In the context of the Highlander universe could Jesus have been immortal

I was reading some of the posts in the Highlander source board and i came across a discussion about Giavanni and Methos, and i began to wonder. Jesus was crucified then stabbed with a spear, then put in a cave or something, people saying they saw a ressurected Jesus despite the fact that he was killed. In the highlander universe would,nt have been more than likely that this was the case?, and if so would you have liked for this to have been be brought up in the series or one of the movies?

wouldve been interesting to see. But im sure the show didnt want to upset christians calling jesus an immortal, even tho thats exactly what they claim. Couldve been really interesting to see duncan and some immortals laugh at jesus being worshiped as a god only to be shown that even tho he is an immortal like them that he has in actual fact had a real destiny.

it was briefly mention in an episode of the series. the episode Little Tin God. where Gavriel Larca poses as Jesus/God.
the priest then asks MacLeod if its possible that the bible and what not is all a sham, because an immortal acted like a god way back when. and MacLeod tries to be convincing in saying that thats not true. but as he says at the end of the episode, it all comes down to faith.
in the epsidoe Blind Faith, you have immortal John Kirin being a religious leader. and it plays on how an immortal would try to play god, and try to basically be a modern day Jesus. but the twist was that the immortal was once a very bad man.

but im sure the writers did not want to go too deep into that sort of thing. i for one would not want the whole immortality thing to be attached so closely to religion.

There is a movie called "The Man From Earth" that addresses your very question.

I highly recommend it.
