Theatrical version ever released on DVD?
I'm pretty sure it was never released in Region 1, but was it released anywhere else? I like that version better and I'd like to see it again....
shareThe theatrical cut has been issued on DVD in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
The German is a 2-DVD set with a healthy dose of extras on the second disc, most of it is recognisable from the US DVD set.
There was also a 2-DVD set issued in the Netherlands which had the Producers' Cut on disc 1 and the theatrical cut on disc 2 but I believe this particular release has now gone out of print at this point and only the Producers' Cut is available now.

Do take note that these are Region 2 and PAL format so usually not playable on NTSC hardware.

Is the theatrical version the same one as the rough cut? Or are there also differences there?

No, the rough cut is not the same as the theatrical version. The theatrical version is approx. 88 minutes long while the producers' cut and the rough cut are each about 100 minutes in length.
