the continuity the producers went with was with the tv series because that is what was popular and a big success at the time.
so its Highlander the feature film. the 6 seasons of the tv series. and Highlander:Endgame.
they ignore Highlander II because of how much it diverted from the story they established in the first film and continued through the tv series.
Highlander III is ignored because when they filmed it they went with the revised script that ignored the tv series continuity.
you cant have Highlander III exist with the tv series continuity, because III goes with the storyline of Connor MacLeod having won the Prize and being the last immortal by the end of the film.
hope thats specific enough for you to understand. Endgame picks up where the tv series left off, which is why Duncan MacLeod exists, why Watchers exist, why theres a female immortal, and why theres still several immortals in existence.
