Yes, I agree. I loved the movie. I was just disappointed at the way conner died. I kinda felt gypped. Also, I thought that Kate and Jin Ke should've had bigger fighting roles. Other than that, I thought it was great!

.
Too many people didn't watch the tv show, likely, and wouldn't really understand that...... there can be only one.....
Great movie.... Great epilogue to the tv series!
Well, it's the best of the sequels at the very least.
shareIt gets to the spirit of Highlander but looks like a greatest hits remixed and also looks cheap.
Its that man again!!
Not even the first Highlander was a solid movie, but more memorable than this one. I wouldn't say Endgame is downright awful though - just a mediocre, cheese-filled, straight to video-ish flick.

I've just had the pleasure of watching it tonight. The Horror channel in th UK is cuurrently showing the series and I've watched almost the first two series and was always a fan of the original movie and have seen the other two. I'd only ever watched bits of the seies years ago and am now enjoying getting to see it as a whole now so watching Endgame put me much closer to Duncan because of it.
I liked this film, more so the first half. It gets a bit bland in the second half and I think the writers and director could have seen the quality slip and rectified things to help it flow better. Conner and Duncan are likeable characters and I thought more could have been written around there relationship with perhaps Conner's haunting by Kell down through the years shown instead of the ropey love interest of Duncan. Kell's rubbish henchmen would also have been better being cut out completely bar the Chinese warrior.
On the whole though it looked good and I paticularly liked the early scenes of Connor returning to his home and attempting to save his mother, it looked good and was disappointed the film didn't continue that level of quality later on, although it wasn't that desperate.
All in I'm happier for having had seen it. I think Highlander could be remade with some serious planning and a well considered cast(that rumour regarding Ryan Renolds would have been a no go, he'd have killed it).
Three films should do it and it'd do well to have Duncan(unsure who could play him...is A.Paul a no-no ?) come in during the second film to add weight to the story and watch Connor and him help each other down though the decades and centuries. Tomas Jane would make a great Connor, he's the spit of a now too old Lambert. It would also be perfect to hear Queen's fabulous soundtrack be resurected again in any future version...it really is befitting of the series !
Finally saw End Game last night and it's the best sequel of the saga, but I also liked part 3. The Quickening is just plain terrible and the first Higlander is superior. If they're going to reboot the franchise I agree that Thomas Jane would be perfect Connor.
I don't know it seems to be worse than I remember. Granted I watched the theatrical cut, I'll watch the producer's cut and rough cuts later. No real point in both MacLeods being in this. One or the other could have been removed and it would have worked out more or less the same IMO. Kell was yet another Kurgan wanna be with a (barely) sympathetic background turning centuries long grudge holder yet again. Connor supposedly believed Kell boxed him into committing suicide by Duncan MacLeod, but it really just made him seem like a hopeless loser which even Duncan tells him.
Kate was just a bitch and yea Duncan was dumb, but she wouldn't have grown old and died like she implied she would have simply became immortal later when she died in whatever way should would have. She should have sucked him dict forever for letting be forever young rather than forever a geezer. Also, the series made it abundantly clear the pre-immortals cannot have kids, yet she bemoans he took her ability to have kids away.
This movie contradicts the series in even more ways such as fighting on holy ground with no consequences such as natural disasters and Duncan was cursed to never marry. Also Methos and Joe Dawson were shoe horned in. Remove them and lose basically nothing and they were barely in it. This movie could have starred just Duncan (probably cheaper than paying Lambert. This film minus opening and closing credits (theatrical anyhow) was under 80 minutes! They could have removed the flashbacks of the 2 (which apparently was largely left over from The Gathering pilot which was meant to be a feature on tv but cut for budget) and reveal what the film really was: a single (not two-part worthy) length episode of the show and a subpar season one level at that.
