Rachel never spent time at Arkham. That was the School Counsellor. In the deleted scene, Rachel goes to Arkham and visits her mother, and on the way out encounters the head pounder. Rachel is already freaked out by her visit with Mom, and the guy is pretty weird. It would freak anybody out.
