Injured Dog???

The scene where the dog is "hit" made this movie for me. We see Carrie pick the dog up and Walter just looks around like any normal basset hound would. Then, fast forward to the vet scene.....blood everywhere and the vet says that Walter will make it. THANK GOD!

I the dog didn't make it, I would've stopped watching the movie right there. I hate movies when the dog dies.

I recommend "Old Yeller" for your viewing pleasure.

Geez, thanks for the suggestion, but I'm well aware of that one! I learned about that one from from my mom who saw it as a little kid. I don't need to see that a second time! Hell, when I was an itty bitty kid, I still remember crying at the end of Turner & Hooch! And that dog was a big ol' slobberin thing!

Oh, heck, I still bawl at the end of those movies and I'm 38 lol. (So glad I'm not the only one who cries at the end of Turner & Hooch") I made the mistake of watching Marley and Me ... couldn't stop crying. Unless you want a good cry, I wouldn't suggest watching it lol.

That scene was pretty ridiculous. The size of that truck and the speed it was going would have flattened that dog. Then when she's carrying him and he's moving around like "why the hell are you carrying me for" makes me laugh. I was glad he made it though, I don't like seeing anything bad happen to animals (even if it is fake)

There was no sense in doing something to the dog so that he would be lying limp and lifeless in her arms when the scene worked just fine as it was. I think everyone understood he'd been ran over and was very hurt.

We've all seen plenty of movies with the ol' concrete dog that gets runover and survives - I thought he died - caught a little of the film once and had to go out just at that scene then watched it some time later and was pleasantly surprised!
