Whats even worse is rachels existence in general. Since ralph is the carrier of telekinesis, how is rachel supposed to be his daughter when ralph died way before the "conception"?
shareNot sure why you think this movie started in 1976. The beginning of the movie doesn't give a date and they often say that Carrie's massacre occurred 20 years (I think Sue Snell specifically says 22 years) prior to the events of this film. That makes it about 1998.
Furthermore, Ralph White is never ever ever stated to be dead in the original film. Carrie says that he ran off with another woman, who we're supposed to assume is Rachel's mom. That means Rachel was born about four or five years after Carrie died.
I don't really see a problem with the time line.
If I have to be like them, I'd rather be no one.
