I agree, it should be higher. If it wasn't s sequel and was a stand alone movie it would be higher.
It should be 5.6

I came on her to expect it to be at a 6.2 or something and was really surprised to see it being this low.

Like does it deserve all the hate and this rating... no.

Acting's decent, story is good, the bullies make you really hate them and the showdown is pretty entertaining.

It's a good sequel and people should stop comparing it to the original film. It isn't meant to play out like the original film so stop comparing it.

Especially since the original is very over rated in my opinion. Well not over rated just got too much of a fan base that slaughters any other remake and/or spin off.

Imagine if the Carrie fanbase was the same as other franchises. Sorry Godfsther part 2, Aliens, Back to the Future. Unfortunately, you are a second film in the franchise therefore you cannot be liked even if you are better than the original.

It should be higher. A sequel to Carrie may not have been necessary. The first Carrie strikes me as the kind of story that can be told in just one movie and there's no need to expand on it. That being said, just because sequels are unnecessary doesn't make them bad. This isn't a bad film on it's own and I'd say it's worthy of at least a 6.

Agreed. It should be higher; it's not as good as the first, but for a sequel made some 20 years after its predecessor, it stands up on its own merits, and imo its one of the most underrated films ever made, and not deserving of the hate that continually is poured on it. Its an 8/10 easy.
