This Is the WORST movie EVER!

I'm a large fan of Harvey Keitel and up until this movie liked Kate Winslet, this movie was on TV, and although i was warned time and time again not to watch it - but of course, i did. Eurgh! It's not even a movie! it's just a sequence of how many disgusting sexual things they can find to do with HK and KW.. It was disgusting, cheap and naff! And i most certainly NOT be watching it again, It's not even naff in an amusing way, its just plain cheap.

"Total F!!king Silence! Two Can Play At That Game!"- Steve Buscemi (Fargo) BIGGEST FAN
"Everyone takes a beating.. Even the mailman" - Ray Liotta (Goodfellas)
"Walk Down The Right Back Alley In Sin City.. And You Can Find Anything.." - Mickey Rourke (Marv, Sin City)

Not sure why i'm bothering to respond, but I think that although the film as a whole is a bit over-the-top, as many have said, I think Kate Winslet gets an A+ for her performance and I'm glad to know she had the balls to take on a role like this right after Titanic made her a huge star.

I found nothing cheap about it and the wife and I found the film to be generally amusing. Wish it had done more to explore her thoughts on her spirtuality and how they changed. I know it wasn't the central theme of the movie, but it kind of left me hanging there on that issue.

And how did the mum come to decide to live in India? The ending was a bit too brisk.

Hey!

We told all you guys who think EVERY movie you
see is the WORST movie ever to get together,
preferably in some distant land, and decide
among yourselves which one it is, or which one
they are. Fight, kick each other in the crotch,
bite, yell, pound or otherwise show how tough and
superior you are to make these decisions.

Then let the rest of us alone who want to discuss
or disagree about the merits of this or that movie.

Don't make us come over there!

Ok so this post is about a zillion years old but I'm going to comment on it anyway since there have been a few recent responses....yes, it's a movie and no its sex is not disgusting.
No, this is not Jane's finest work - at worst it starts off really well and then ends up being uneven and Kate's character seems a bit too headstrong to fall for any sort of cult. That's the worst thing I can say about it.
On the upshot, I think this film has a lot of good qualities to it that I enjoy about Australian films - it's quirky and funny. It also has a great soundtrack and good cinematography and has an amusing story line.
If the second half were as good as the first half, I'd give this film an A. As it is, I give it a B. It's not as quirky as Sweetie, but still worth watching.

I'll tell you in another life, when we are both cats.

I'm happy to announce that the honorific prize for the most original thread title for this movie goes to the OP.

But is he wrong?

Yes Barbaric_Martyr, this movie had me until the professional started screwing his subject. Totally stupid script, situations and just another movie to have Kate get nude. If you want to see a really good movie about deprogramming a young lad then see 1981's "TICKET TO HEAVEN" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083201/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_133 It may be old in years but that is THE way to rinse someone's brain from Dogma.
