How does he move his mouth?
If the person inside has to control the arms how do they make the mouth move? Is it computerized?

I remember that Bob West (Barney's original voice) told one of my friends that the actor bites down on a bar (covered in car wash sponges) and nods his head to make Barney's mouth move. Hope that answers your question.

In the Barney in the Backyard Gang videos, I noticed (in Campfire Sing-Along) that when Barney's line came up, he used his right glove to pull on his left glove and the left glove became floppy. Then Barney's mouth began to move, so I'm guessing the actor used his arm to control his mouth in the beginning.
