Urban legend?

Can anyone verify this story? I was recently told this by a group of fourth-
grade children. It seems a performer who occupied the "Barney" costume was
accused of concealing illicit drugs in the tail of his dinosaur costume!
I told them the story was just a silly piece of gossip; everything about it
sounds like nothing more than an urban legend, yet they insisted that it was
true. I looked for this tale on urban legend sites but I haven't been able to
find anything. Anyone know where this story came from, and if there is any
truth to it? I'm not trying to start any nasty rumors, I just want to know
how such a tale got started. For some reason, kids' shows in particular are
targets for sinister urban legends (while I found nothing about Barney, an
urban legend site included a story about Mr. Rogers' former life as a trained
assassin--just a rumor, of course).

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

Actually, that rumor (as well as the rumor of Barney cursing on TV) has been debunked by snopes.com. Apparently, the drug rumor comes from the fact people have hid coccaine in Barney dolls. Personally, being a Barney fan, I've always thought those stories were B.S.

The link to the snopes page on the Barney rumor(s) is: http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/barney.asp
