Where's the love for Barney?

I'm sorry, but I am just so surprised at the low rating for this program. I admit that it's annoying once you get past the age of about 5, but have you seen the joy in the eyes of little ones while they watch this show? My daughter lights up when it comes on. It makes it worth watching just to see her dance to the music and laugh at the dinosaurs and children. Not to mention that it introduces most kids to some traditional songs that they would otherwise never hear. It encourages children to use their imagination. This is realy a great show, otherwise, there wouldn't be millions of kids who
like(d) it.

Any little kids' eyes would light up if you put them in front of a screen with bright colors and music.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

I have to admit Barney was my favorite show as a little kid. I loved it. But I remember going into the third grade and people bashing barney left and right. I was amazed. So I was forced to hate barney if you will. Because kids at school would make fun of me. I agree with you it really sets off the kids imagination. :D

Their eyes "light up"? Pah ha ha, I love cheesy parents!

I was hearing Barney bashing daily at age four. I stopped liking this show around three.

my daughter loves this show. i'm not a cheesy parent but one who doesn't want my daughter watching sponge bob with all the sick humor that is now on it, or any other show like that. she doesnt need to see that at her age. and no i don't just stick her in front of the tv. but she enjoys watching it as she eats her breakfast.

I used to watch barney all the time!

I think that barney is a lot better than most of the children shows that are on nowadays. It teaches life lessons through songs.(sharing, cleaning up, making friends, apologizing, ect) Which songs are what keep childrens attention.

Barney is a good show. And yeah I heard a lot of bashing once I hit about 3rd or 4th grade.

But it's a great teaching show! =)

Loved it! And I watch it when I babysit little ones who also love to watch it and then dance when they all sing.

Only thing I can't stand... baby-bop! Bleh!

this show sucks for everyone. Even kids.

I was obsessed with this show when I was young but I remember some time when I was in kindergarte, everyone was bashing the show saying that it was for babies. When you're five (being called a baby was like the biggest insult to me at that age). So figuring it was time to grow up I decided to swear off Barney and join in the bashing. Now at the age of nineteen I appreciate Barney because I realized that I learned a lot from it and it has encouraged me to hold an optimistic world view and use my imagination. Most of the people bashing Barney are young pubescent kids in middle school or people who are dissatisfied with their lives.

My kids (now 15 and 9) loved Barney. I liked it because it was entertaining and they learned from it. I prefer the old shows though - the classic ones with Michael, Min and Tina. We watched a lot of them when my 15 year old was little and bought the videos when my 9 year old was little.

I MIGHT have liked this show if it had been on when I was a little kid, but I don't remember seeing or hearing about it back in the mid '60's so I basically can't stand it.

I think this is pretty cool.

I'm not afraid to say that I loved this show when was three/four-years-old. Even had a Barney doll and Barney PJs. Then it became 'uncool' to like this around third grade.

What's not to like? It's a sweet show for toddlers, nothing more, nothing less.

Barney has always been the scapegoat for jaded adults who feel hip and cool by bashing it.
