Who loved this show when they were little?

I was born in '93 and I LOVED this show. "Naney" (Barney) was my first word. =D
I had all times of Barney stuff and I cried whenever they switched kids!
How about you?

reply

Me too. I still like it and I'm a teenager.

reply

Same here. In fact, I'm an expert on Barney (although I don't know exactly as much as HIT does).

I was born in 1986, and i grew up watching barney...now my nieces are watching it..but as i watch the new shows...it just doesn't seem to be the same...and so i found the old vcr tapes of barney that i had, and i popped one tape in..and i still found myself entertained...crazy isnt it?

...mmmm. you're pullin' me..

I was born in 1990 and i'd watch this show while Grandma would record it for me. I also loved the Christmas Special.

I never liked it period. I thought Barney was hiding in my closet, Baby Bop was hiding in the shadows and that BJ might've been eating my mom (My parents were doing it and I heard her screaming. I was 3)

Never quite got into Barney. I was eight years old when it first aired.

I still like it and I'm 18.

im 20 now LOVED barney, I work at a daycare and love to see the kids watch the same episodes I watched when I was little.

I was born in 1992, so I pretty much grew up with this show.
The only reason I was toilet-trained was because my mom bought me Barney underwear.
The only reason my parents finally got me out of a crib and into a bed was because they bought me Barney sheets.
I sang all of the songs, and sometimes I find myself breaking into some of the songs at random times. (Not extremely often, but sometimes.)
I adored this show.
Sadly, my four and five-year-old sisters never shared the same enthusiasm for Barney as me and my twelve-year-old sister did when we were little. They'll watch it sometimes, but most of the time they'd rather change the channel to Disney Channel so that they can watch Hannah Montana.
So instead of singing "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family," they're singing "If we were a movie, you'd be the right guy, and I'd be the best friend, that you'd fall in love with."
Quite a difference, even if they don't know that the song is sung to those icky boys who always poke them or pull their hair.
And I used to hate it when they switched kids too! It felt like I had lost a friend.

I like the ol school Barney...Back when Min, Tasha, Derek, Michael, Kathy and the others were on...

I used to, but on the first day of Kindergarten I got made fun of because I had a Barney backpack and I've hated it ever since.

I was born in 1992 and I LOVED Barney when I was younger, actually I was obsessed and knew every song from the show and always carried my stuffed barney bear around with me!
I also still own all the videos- there's about nine!!! LOL

reply

Wow...I was just talking to my boss today about the Barney story...freaky.

i'm 19. i'm watching it right now. but that's more becaue there is nothing else on. also, it's just not the same as when i was little. the voice is OBVIOUSLY different and WHERE is the magical tree that transports them to the forest? that was my favorite part. i wish they would show some old episodes with tina and the gang.

reply

I'm 26 (almost 27), and while I was a bit too old for Barney when it first came out, I still ended up watching it sometimes. Mainly b/c I remember it was on either right before or right after Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego. That was my all time favorite show, and so instead of changing the channel, I'd keep Barney on.

I was born in the late 80's and loved Barney as a kid but stopped watching around 1994. I wasn't a big fan of the new cast and maybe the fact that I was getting older made me have some disinterest in the show? my fav was Tina.

i was born in '87 but i watched this show because i had a younger brother (born in '90) and a younger cousin (born in '93 i think?). i liked to watch it (and still occasionally do... gotta love video ondemand) just to make fun on the horrid acting and lipsyncing.

i might even, at this moment, be watching one of those classic episodes from the early 90s -- "Grandparents Are Grand". haha.

Born in '93 too, and I loved this show! But whoever the new Barney made the show very unappealing to me. Why can't kids shows today be like they used to be?!
