Jimmy the mod, don't get me wrong, I love Broken Lizard and I wanted this movie to be funny in the worst way, but there is a plain and simple fact to this movie...they had no clue what they were doing when they made it. Poor casting (the rugby player boyfriend sucked, the fat friend who did the stand up was flippin terrible, even the main girl seemed to be a community college actress drop-out, and Lemme was horrid as the lead guy) and a 'slower than a special olympic marathon' plot line created a crap movie with moments (few and far between) of comedy. This is not to say that I need a movie to slam me in the face with comedy, I just need a movie to actually BE funny. If you are comparing this movie to clerks, whose witty and sarcastic dialogue created the comedy of the movie, then you are as delerious as Freaky because Puddle Cruiser provided none of this. And if you found this movie as funny as you claim, then obviously you need a movie to be boring, long winded, and the opposite of funny. Again, this is not to say that I didn't want the movie to be funny, I really gave it an effort, but my biggest problem was with Lemme, who wasn't funny accidentally. His monotone delivery and his cluelessness on how to deliver a punchline was a polar opposite of both Dread and Troopers. The rest of the broken lizard crew were funny and even hilarious at times, but even they couldn't save this train wreck. And this is not to say that PC didn't have potential. There were lines in this movie that could have been hilarious, but were delivered wrong, and this has to do with the pace of certain scenes, which is why I suggested that the movie needed a quicker pace. Comedy is hard to do and the timing needs to be perfect. And although this movie was complete crap, they obviously learned from their mistakes and got significantly better with their second film, Troop.
