FOX/Alien experts, and other freaks...

I dunno, maybe I'm not into the wee tiny details of a movie so much as the first post (who cares if the town had lights?) but with this movie you didn't need to be.
The idea was great but some really dumb people must have made this movie because it would have been really easy to scare the wits out of me if they didn't make some OBVIOUS mistakes.

A) The family is way too cute and fake. Everybody was likeable. Their faults were way too artificial (alcoholic mom with an angelic personality and a great figure at 60?). Everybody seemed to really get along and be in a relatively great mood (so unreal-especially on Thanksgiving!).

B) The girls were all gorgeous! Have you guys seen the average American chick?
Gross to say the least. The guys were more average looking (only because the movie was casted by a man obviously) but all very fit and athletic looking.
Put a couple of ugly chicks and a fat a** big brother and I would have been half way there.

C) The little girl should have not been so calm -I can buy the 'possessed bit' but here it was obviously just an excuse to not scare the child actress too much (or maybe she couldn't act very scared very well). I would have had her freak out totally in the beggining and (maybe) change AFTER she'd been upstairs with the alien. Although I doubt a real mom would let her kid go pee alone etc. in the dark with an alien in the house!

D) The camera was too good. Ok the kid could have wanted to be a director and bought the best camera in the world but he wouldn't have made such a perfect movie of it all if he was scared or worried about his family's survival. If they had 'cut-up' the scenes more it would have been more convincing.

E) In a matter of less than a couple of hours the camera-kids hand is almost healed (as seen in the W.C. scene). Cheap mistake. It should have been pussy and swollen -worse than before.

F) Don't get me started on the Aliens. They were so obviously humans with a mask in the first scene (with the cow). A slightly strange walk would be easy, (no extra cost) and much more convincing.

There's more but I think these were the dumbest mistakes. I was dissapointed because the idea was pretty good and it wouldn't have taken much to make this movie go from insulting my intelligence to scaring my pants off.

The scariest part of the movie was (unfortunately) the clips that stated it would be terrifying and to leave the room if you can't handle it. Of course NOTHING was ever graphic or really scary. The 'commentators' were all dumb and only convinced me the movie was made by dummies even more. And the actors all sucked (except maybe for the sister). This was one of the main reasons I couldn't get scared. They were obviously just acting.
BUMMER! I really liked T.B.W.project btw. I got me good! So you KNOW I can't be that hard to please...

"Next store?" Uhhm, the heck does that mean?

My favorite part was where the Adobe Premiere lens flare filter flew in the window. I though I was going to hurt myself laughing. That and where the obviously added clock in the corner times out a full minute even when there's been an edit in the middle of it.

The bit where it gets abruptly foggy when the aliens start cutting up the invisible cow so that the laser pointers they're holding will show a visible beam was also quite convenient.

But the best thing of all is hearing all the UFO nuts who scream that this was a conspiracy to discredit UFO believers perpetrated by the US government. Is there ANYTHING those people WON'T scream "conspiracy" over?
