The one that I saw on one of those spook shows as a kid ended with the aliens walking into the house, and the camera was on the ground. Then one of the aliens looked at the camera and it went static. Then afterwards they talked about how it was made, and I remember a behind the scenes shot of a girl in alien garb holding her foam alien mask.

DId I see the "big budget" remake or the original tape that everyone thought was real?

I'm pretty sure I saw the original one. Anyone have a link to it on google vid / youtube?

I saw the exact same thing on tv back when it primered. It looks like the google one has some scenes cut out.

The Version on Goggle seems to be the first airing the 2nd airing had more "Found Footage" put back onto it and there was a diffrent ending that involved the "Ninja Alien" in the main guys Closet/Bathroom.

I think you saw the 1989 tape that was passed around the UFO community that had no credits or anything. I've been looking for that one, it was much better than the UPN thing.
